Gratitude Practice – How to find Gratitude in Difficult situations?

It’s not always easy to find gratitude especially when we are faced with a difficult problem or  situation, or an impossible challenge.  Perhaps, the first instinct would be to respond  with impatience, exasperation or anger rather than Gratitude.

No one can blame you if this is the case.  Somehow it is easier to focus on what is not going right, rather than to focus on the opposite.

But can we still find gratitude? How to find Gratitude in Difficult situations?

How to find Gratitude during chaotic times?  The answer lies in our PERSPECTIVE.

Our Perspective  is defined as our particular attitude toward something. It is our point of view and the way we regard things or situations.  Though our perspective is dictated by a collection of past experiences, it is not permanent, it is not cast in stone.  We can still shift our perspective deliberately.

If we want to find gratitude in difficult situations, we need to shift our perspective.

We must consciously shift our perspective to positive!

That’s how we will find Gratitude in Difficult situations.

Positive Perceptive = Positive Energy = Gratitude =Happiness!

Positive Perspective begets Gratitude.  When our perspective is positive, we tend to focus on the things that are going right, and that will fill us with  gratitude.

Positive Perspective allows us to see the silver lining in any dark cloud.  It is what makes us realize that the sun is not gone but is merely hidden, waiting to peak out of any rainy day and that will fill us with gratitude.

Positive Perspective allows us to think of deals or contracts that did not push through as blessings in disguise.  For those deals and contracts would have brought us financial downfall, then that will fill us with gratitude.

Positive Perspective allows us to justify why that much awaited trip that just got cancelled might have saved us from getting ill or infected with the COVID 19 virus, then that will fill us with gratitude.

Positive Perspective allows us to see through an end of a long standing relationship that might have saved us from a lifetime of misery, then that will fill us with gratitude.

Just a few of the examples, but you do get what I mean?

A positive perspective allows us to view every experience, every situation, particularly the most painful ones as learning lessons that we can learn from and evolve from.

It is hard to not feel gratitude when these lessons serve to make us stronger, tougher and more resilient in the end.

Shifting our perspective to the positive, is how to find gratitude in difficult situations.

Happy Gratitude Sunday!
